Are you involved in any aerobics class? If you do, you should be pretty familiar with the basics of aerobic exercises. For those who are not in the know, aerobics means in the presence of oxygen. Most of us who are in such gym classes would remember our instructors telling us to keep breathing to ensure that we get the full benefits of this exercise. Aerobics are great for improving your cardiovascular system and your respiratory endurance. They can help you run faster and longer and make your run up a small flight of stairs seem like a tiny bump in the road. The best way to get a great and healthy body is to make sure you are maximizing your aerobics workouts. However, do you know that you can further supercharged your aerobics workout in three different ways? They are through frequency, duration and intensity. So how can you maximize your aerobic workouts properly? Well, the first thing you can do is look at how often you are doing the workouts. If you have been working out for about two to three times a week, you can increase your frequency to four to five times a week. An increase of even one to two sessions a week can make a big difference. One thing to take note is that even when you increase your frequency, you still need to ensure that you are doing at least twenty minutes but no more than an hour at a time. The reason is that you need to get your body into an aerobic zone and twenty minutes is the bare minimum to get there. However, any longer than an hour and you will find that you are just burning yourself out. That is the point when most people lose even their motivation as well. Changing the intensity of your workout can happen in several different forms. If you are running, for example, you could choose to sprint for thirty seconds after every five minutes or so. This change in intensity will help your body out immensely. If you are doing an aerobic routine, you can try adding weights such as wrist or angle weights. These will help to add some more resistance and intensity. As with any exercise routine you need to mix it up. Every couple of weeks change what you are doing. Go from running to biking, or a dance aerobics tape to a jump rope. This small change will keep your body guessing and it will continue to help it burn fat and perform stronger. Lastly, with any routine, make sure you are having a healthy diet. Having a proper nutritional diet can be the one biggest difference between a maximized workout and a so so one. If you feel yourself running low on energy ten minutes into your routine then you probably need to take a look at what you are eating. Nutrition is an important aspect of fitness. The hard work that you put into your fitness regime will come to nothing if you have not had a proper diet.
