Do you have your own motivation techniques? An even better question is, are you using them?... Being able to motivate yourself is a very hard thing to attempt, however, it's very important to accomplishing the meaningful stuff in life. By using my advice inside this article, I will make it that bit easier for you. OKAY... A hell of a lot simpler! The missing link between a good personal development plan and you EXTRAORDINARY life, is MOTIVATION!. Since my goal is to help anybody who's bothered about living their DREAM life, it's a no brainer to write about bridging that gap. Remember earlier, I said SELF HELP motivation techniques... It is very important that you know how to motivate yourself, because the chances are you WON'T have a motivational guru at your beck and call, 24 hours a day. And besides, you want to be able to motivate yourself, don't you?... That's the intro covered, now let's get stuck into some of my self help motivation techniques. HAVE YOU PLANNED FOR MOTIVATION? You've heard the phrase, "Be careful what you wish for", my version of this is, "careful what you're PLANNING for". Why?... Well obviously, planning to be the next bonnie and Clyde is probably not be the best idea, I'm sure you can appreciate that. But what I really mean, is that you need to understand the bigger picture... The bigger picture regarding your life... As soon as the bigger plan has been drawn up, you can then start to create momentum which will become UNSTOPPABLE. Momentum like this could mean you'll NOT require other self help motivation techniques. To understand what the bigger picture is, you have to have some kind of theory in regards to your life's purpose. I believe life's purpose is to lead a happy life, there's more to my theory than that but let's focus on happiness for the purpose of this article. Everything, and any, plan we formulate in the future, naturally should be with a view to achieving this. With that in mind, any plan that you begin to follow ideally will have a desired outcome that helps you achieve, or be closer to, the 'bigger picture', which in this case is your happiness... Fair enough, right? You may be wondering why I'm talking about planning when this article is supposed to cover self help motivation techniques. Stick with the program, in a minute the reason for this will become much clearer... You see, any well thought out plan will give much needed CLARITY. Motivation and clarity go hand-in-hand, without clarity, our brain will shut down almost instantly. This then results in a LACK of motivation. Here's my point, in the first place, you ideally should have a good plan to follow that gives you clarity, that, by itself, motivates you. IS BAD REALLY BAD?... I always tell people NEVER to be worried about the prospect of failure. Why? Because often, the JOURNEY bears more fruits than the actual destination. If you're anything like the people I discuss this with, you'll probably be thinking this is easier said then done... In fact, it's NOT... It basically all boils down to your FOUNDATIONAL VALUES. In hindsight, I can vividly remember many failures throughout my life that has taught me some invaluable lessons money just CAN'T buy. Want prove? This article is proof because the reason I'm able to pass on my 'pearls of wisdom' is because I've learnt from my failures! ;-) Recognise that success is NOT the greatest teacher in the world - DON'T FORGET THIS. When you begin to understand this, you'll NO LONGER be afraid of failure again. And since we're on the subject, look back on your previous mistakes and ask yourself - what could I have learnt from the JOURNEY. OVERCOMING obstacles is the true success in life . In other words, your greatest failures can be your greatest triumphs, hence the reason why I say, "Bad is GOOD, if you allow it to be!" I bet you're probably thinking this has nothing to do with self help motivation techniques. Well let me tell you, it has EVERYTHING to do with it. FEAR can be crippling. Fear hinders motivation, so it is VERY relevant to self help motivation techniques. By knowing how to successfully overcome fear, you'll have a massive weight lifted of your shoulders, while, at the same time, find it much easier becoming motivated.... Good emotional intelligence will definitely help you to more effectively handle your fears, then you can actually use your fears, and the 'encrypted clues' it gives you, to really make my self help motivation techniques really work for you. Approach this the right way, get programmed into your mind BEFORE even contemplating trying to use any self help motivation techniques.
