Facial Tics – Cure With NLP

No one knows exactly what causes facial tics, but the consequences can be devastating both children and adults. Many young children with facial twitches are singled out by other children as being “different,” and experience painful teasing. People with severe tics may even be socially ostracized as a result of this.

Since doctors haven’t yet learned the exact cause of the problem, resolving the problem with medical treatments is often challenging or impossible. Sometimes, involuntary facial twitches are caused by other health problems, such as multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease, or other devastating neuromuscular disorders. If you or your child develops a problem with facial tics, and the problem has lasted for more than a few months, consult with a doctor to evaluate whether a serious medical condition is causing the twitches.

Most of the time, however, these involuntary tics aren’t connected with another medical problem. They are merely annoying and persistent. People with facial tics often report social problems, self-esteem problems, and sometimes-even relationship problems.

After seeing a doctor about the problem, the majority of doctors usually recommend medication to try to control the problem. While some medicines do help to lessen the frequency or severity of the tics, many of these often have severe side effects that can be harmful or damaging. They may cause drowsiness, confusion, breathing problems, or kidney problems. A few medications even have the potential to increase the severity of the involuntary movements.

Another approach, however, has shown exciting promise in the treatment of facial tics. Neuro-Linguistic Programming, or NLP, works at the level of the unconscious mind to intervene and re-program the brain to relax the twitching muscles and end the throat clearing, eye twitching, coughing, or other involuntary movement.

Now, a child or adult can relax in the safety and comfort of his or her own room and play a series of NLP CDs that will help to re-program the brain to end these painful, annoying movements. NLP uses the flash technique to help sufferers relax and learn to shed tension and stress before it becomes a problem. As the stress dissipates, the incidence and severity of tics also diminishes.

If you or your child struggles with this problem, learn how NLP can help decrease your stress and your involuntary facial movements today!
